Print this 12-piece mold to create a stunning rendition of a Racing Sparrow 1000mm-long RC yacht.
The settings the designer used on a Creality K1 Max printer were:
- PLA+ eSun 1.75mm
- Nozzle: 0.4mm, Wall count: 2, Top layers: 2, Bottom layers: 2
- Small brim
- 210°C Nozzle
- 60°C Bed
- 28-30°C Chamber
- Layer height: 0.24mm
- 15% infill at 300mm/s print speed
The largest part is 200mm, making this printable on most home printers. Just load each STL into your slicer program and print. This will require around 2 standard spools of filament.
The joiner is 1 part that you will need to print 25 times. These align the mold sections precisely with small bolts.
The bolts needed are 6mm x 30mm, with 115 bolts in total. The holes for the bolts are modeled into the STLs for precision alignment.
Typical mold preparation will still be needed: sanding, filling, priming, painting, and applying wax and PVA release agent. The mold can be glued together to make one solid piece or split down the center to create a two-piece mold. Use it in whichever way suits your needs.
