The Racing Sparrow RS850 is an innovative, lightweight 3D-printable radio controlled yacht featuring a unique twin-mast rig. Designed for simplicity, low cost and outstanding sailing performance, it combines rapid acceleration with beautifully balanced, agile handling. It's the fastest boat in the Racing Sparrow fleet.

Online Build Guide

This download includes the complete set of STL files needed to build the RS850, along with access to a comprehensive step-by-step online build guide, sail plans and detailed photographs. From printing and assembly through to rigging and sailing, the entire process has been designed to be straightforward and enjoyable.

The hull prints in five sections, with solid and soft bow options. Many internal braces and fittings are integrated into the printed parts, reducing assembly time and complexity. Larger cabin and rudder options are included for bigger printers, along with an editable STEP file for the servo tray.

The revolutionary twin-mast rig uses two independent, stayless carbon masts, eliminating much of the complexity and weight of traditional rigging. Combined with a long keel, lightweight printed bulb and responsive stern-hung rudder, the result is an exceptionally fast, powerful and well-balanced yacht weighing just 2.24kg.

Two licence options are available. The Personal Licence is for individual use and allows unlimited builds for private use. The Educational Licence is intended for schools, clubs and workshops, enabling multiple users within a single organisation and allowing use in teaching or paid sessions.
